The expertise and experience behind the Informed Practitioner in Sport e-learning courses
Content Creator, Lead Instructor
Paul Gamble
Paul Gamble has worked with elite athletes of all ages from an array of sports during a career working in elite and professional sport that has spanned two decades and three continents. In each of his roles over that time Paul has been responsible for overseeing all facets of athlete support including sports medicine provision, such that he has come to view performance and injury as inseparable and two sides of the same coin. Throughout his career Paul has aimed to bridge the worlds of academic research and applied practice, beginning with his PhD which he undertook alongside his day job with English Premiership rugby union side London Irish. The learning content and books that Paul has published similarly focus on translating theory into practice and the application of knowledge to develop real-world expertise. In addition to his work in athletic preparation, sports injury and talent development, Paul is also an elite track and field athletics coach. Alongside the independent coaching initiative that he launched in 2019, Paul presently consults with leaders and organisations as well as providing continuing education to coaches and practitioners across disciplines. Paul also regularly shares content via the Informed Practitioner in Sport (informedinsport.com) and Prepared Athlete Training & Health (preparedathlete.info) websites.
